Fall of Giants by Ken Follett
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
A very spotty book. I’ve always liked Ken Follett’s work. His “Pillars of the Earth ” is one of my top 5% books. Even “Night Over Water,” which I didn’t really like, was a well-told story. “Fall of Giants,” however, is not his usual quality. It bounces back and forth between his usual brilliant story telling, cheap romance novel writing, and high school term paper exposition. I thought about paying the $18.99 that Penguin was asking for the Kindle edition–shame on you Penguin–but got it at the library instead. I’m glad I did. I skimmed close to half.
